For instance an event called Starbucks will be get your “Meeting” category assigned to it and your hourly rate will be automatically applied. Want OfficeTime to know what category to assign it to? Just add the category name in brackets to the title of the event. OfficeTime will now be publishing to the correct calendar. In OfficeTime, go to Edit-Edit Projects, click your project, click Edit and select your newly named calendar. In the “NAME” field, change the name to, let’s say, “Work-iCloud” and click “OK”. In the list of calendars (both local and iCloud), right-click one of the calendars and choose “Get Info”. Open iCal and click on the ‘Calendar’ button at the top left hand side. If OfficeTime shows you duplicate calendars and you don’t want to create a new one, there’s an easy way to figure out which one is the real one. You can make a new session and it should appear in iCal.ĭuplicates: Will the Real Calendar Please Stand Up OK. OfficeTime will move all of your existing sessions to your new calendar. Change the sync calendar to your new calendar. In OfficeTime, go to Edit-Edit Projects, click your project, click Edit. Choose File->New Calendar->iCloud and give it a name. The best way to test that you’re still working is to make a new calendar for OfficeTime to sync into. (Unfortunately, we’re reliant upon what calendars iCal provides us and it currently tells us about everything.) And OfficeTime might still be syncing with one of these old calendars, which does not sync to the cloud and may not even be seen anymore in iCal. If you’ve just updated to iCloud, you might have extra calendars such as those from MobileMe. So the end result is, you make an appointment, even with Siri, and OfficeTime records it. It sounds complicated but if you’ve got both versions of OfficeTime open it happens automatically and almost instantly. However, if you own the desktop version, it will sync with the desktop which will sync with iCal which will sync with iCloud which will sync back to your calendar app. (You can either have everything in a calendar come into the project of your choice, or you can have OfficeTime smartly look for the project name in your event and bring that into the correct project.)ĭoes the iPhone/iPad version sync with the calendar app? You can also schedule a meeting, and as soon as the meeting starts, OfficeTime will import it into the correct project. So you should be able to start a timer in OfficeTime and see your day blocked out in the calendar app on your iPhone.
And iCal syncs well with iCloud and all your other devices.
